This cache is located in the Hearst-Mead Preserve of the North Salem Open land Foundation. It is accessed via a marked trail from Rt 121 (Grant Rd.).
This hunt entails a walk of more than a mile on a well travelled trail marked by aqua arrows. The route climbs up through the Halmi Preserve and does a loop around some hills close by the border of Mountain Lakes Park.
There is also an approach to this cache from Mountain Lakes Park. The North Salem Trail, marked NS, leaves Roaring Brook Rd, 1/3 of a mile east of Pine Lake and heads 1/3 of a mile to link with the Hearst Mead Preserve.
