J. R. R. Tolkien's, The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, produced
by New Line Cinema and released in three installments as The Lord
of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Lord of the
Rings: The Two Towers (2002), and The Lord of the Rings: The Return
of the King (2003).
The Lord of the Rings trilogy starts from the quiet beginnings
in the Shire, then ranges across Middle-earth. The story centers on
the Ring of Power made by the Dark Lord Sauron, and follows the
courses of the War of the Ring. The Lord of the Rings has created
many characters such as Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, Wizards, Orcs and
Ents.
The Shire is described by Tolkien as a small but beautiful and
fruitful land, beloved by its inhabitants, the Hobbits. The Shire
has rich pastoral farmland, vineyards, and woodland forest. Much of
the land was devoted to growing crops. Several smaller rivers flow
into the the marshlands along the main river.
The Hobbit's height is between two and four feet tall, with
curly hair. They have pointed ears, oversized feet so they never
wear shoes. The Hobbits live in underground (earth bermed)
homes.
Note: There are no trails in this park. To search for the Hobbit
caches you will be hiking through woodlands and marshlands, and
crossing small streams.
