While driving into work tonight I came to an unexpected stop sign on 51st St. between 6th and 7th Ave. Above the stop sign was this street sign:

A little research brought me to this "The New York Observer" article. Running from 51st St. to 57th St. in the middle of 6th and 7th Ave. you can use this shortcut to help stay out of the elements on a foul weather day.
