"Z" Rock Cache

This cache is all that a Pennsylvania hike should be...a long winding trail, full of rhododendron, to a trio of hidden falls in the deep woods.  This really is one of the best of the best in PA that I’ve done, and one that everyone should do if given the chance.  Heck, I’ll go so far as to say this would certainly a Szuchie Best of PA list.  That says a lot…so dangit, go do this cache!

An awesome cache located in the wetlands at the southern end of Owasco Lake.  We made the trek over the frozen inlet in the dead of Winter and even then this experience was amazing.  Beautiful scenery, and generally just a really unique "hike" on the lake!

This is one of Rocky’s finest cache hides (which is saying a lot) and most certainly lives up to its name.  Here you will find an amazing gully that is full of beautiful surprises and magnificent features.  The gorge walls coupled with the spectacular assortment of waterfalls will inspire and impress all those that explore this magical area.

This is an excellent cache - one I'd certainly recommend as a pre-sunrise/sunset geo-adventure.  The cache hide is relatively easy, but the short hike and the subsequent views of Diamond Head in the distance while being surrounded by the Pacific Ocean are what solidify this as a must do!  [:D]

The final of Cayuga Crew's 4-part series (3 traditionals and a puzzle/final). The first three in the series are located along the North Country Trail and introduce you to amazing shelters/lean-tos.  At each of these you'll get coordinate info that will help you find this cache which is located atop Mt. Oneida.  Similar to the others in this series, you'll be embarking upon at least a 4+ miles along the NCT with plenty of elevation to be found.  It really is a tremendous series - an absolute must-do for anyone who likes hiking in Allegany State Park!

Another fun Snowman cache.  The first leg is clever, and the location of the second leg is exceptional.  A nice hike, in a pretty section of woods with some unique hides and an ammocan finish.  That's how you get on this list!  :)

This is a very well designed multicache, and what truly elevates it to excellence is how wonderful a place Nannen Arboretum is.  With so many different kinds of plant life set in a peaceful and serene setting - you can spend hours exploring this beautiful place and never see the same thing twice.  Awesome cache!

This is a unique puzzle that requires you to play with maps (oh yeah, totally nerding out over that).  Once you've globetrotted, you enjoy a nice little hike through Wyoming County forest full of scenic hardwoods and boot-sucking muck.  Ahhh...that's good stuff.

If you like playing king of the mountain, this cache is for you.  It will take you atop the highest point in Allegany State Park.  No roads, no trails...just open woods walking baby.  There's plenty of elevation change, but the thrill of conquering this hill is worth it in the end!

Located along the Pickens Nose Trail in Nantahala National Forest in North Carolina - this cache is a nice hike along a mountain ridge - where you'll witness several tremendous vistas.  The find itself requires a bit of bouldering, but you get the opporutnity to get up close and personal with some massive rock faces.  An awesome cache in an amazing area!

Two words: conglomerate rocks!  They are everywhere along the Bear Caves Trail in Allegany State Park.  While getting to the rocks is a weebit of an uphill hike, what you'll find here is worth the trek.  There's so much to explore - and checking out the formations are exceptional.  It really is one of the more unique locations in ASP!

This is an amazing "choose your own destiny" cache.  The Nogg's put a ton of effort into this offering, so rest assured you are guaranteed a great adventure.  [:)]  In addition, Bear Creek is such a beautiful park that will treat every nature lover to something spectacular.

A unique and most excellent cache hide in J.P. Nicely Memorial West Falls Park.  This park has to be one of my favorite "smaller parks" I have ever been fortunate enough to visit.  In addition to the cache hide, the location is a spectacular spot.  This hide truly incorporates everything that I enjoy about caching - a must do!  [:)]

This list contains a group of outstanding caches that I think embodies the true essence of caching. They include caches that are unique, special and physically challenging and mentally stimulating.  In the end, the constant theme is that they have introduced me to wondrous and magnificent places that I didn’t realize existed.

On a whole, these caches have provided me with some of my most enjoyable and fun-filled moments on the trails - typically with the best of friends.  I hope this list will give you an idea of some of the magnificent caches out there...and hopefully you'll get the opportunity to try each and every one of these.  Enjoy!
