My car GPS had sent me down this road, and being unfamiliar with the route I pulled off to look at my atlas to see where I was and where it would take me. I found this with my phone app and flashlight.  That's when I knew that my hobby had turned into an addiction.  Twelve Step?

Nice large cache hidden in a nice spot.  First hide by the CO was well done, unlike many who feel that 5 finds makes them qualified to stick a film can in guardrail.

Luckily I have found ones like this, so am now trained to check for them.  Clever hide.  I went in to give kudos to the CO who owns the business and he mentioned watching people walk in circles being locked in a two dimensional world.

This cache is along a stream with 3 levels of beaver ponds. The cache at the top was in very rough shape when I found it. A favorite point was given for the location, rather than the cache.

This required multiple visits, not because of the difficulty of the find, but because of the lack of cooperation of the Beaverkill water level.  I finally got there when it was accessible.

This fantastic cache brought me all over Central Park.  It took me four caching sessions to complete it, but well worth the effort.  My favorite (?) part was when I got stuck on the wrong side of the NY Marathon and had to make a big diversion to get to the West Side so I could get to a concert at Lincoln Center.  I thought I left myself ample time, but wound up nearly late.

This one was neat.  The cache was located in a spot that would give horrible satellite reception, so rather than give lousy coordinates the loving CO gave accurate coords to a clearing and then supplied orienteering-based directions to the cache.  They were remarkably precise.

A pleasant walk through an evergreen forest brought me to an area with much bounce.  Luckily a generous hint allowed me to quickly home in on the correct tree.

An easy .2 mile walk along a snowmobile trail and then a short bushwhack.  There were several downed trees so I had to check each one until I spotted the container.  On the remainder of the tree still standing was a bracket fungus on which was perched one of the most intersting looking insects I have ever seen.



Cooper Kiln Cache

This chronicles the caches I have found to satisfy the NY Delorme Challenge.

The caches I have used in this list are for the most part Regular caches.  Some others my be smaller, but have some sort of sentimental value for me, such as my first find on 9/1/2010, which was a micro. Many of these are finds from several years ago and are now archived.

My personal standard for the Delorme Challenge has been at least 5 caches per page including at least 1 Regular Cache.  With the exception of page 82, which has only a small sliver of land, those criteria have been met.
