Geocache Description:

A Ghost of Cachemas Past

'Twas the 7th day of Cachemas, Dec 31, 2005. JAMM had his 7th Cachemas hide published called "7 Giants Sleeping". This cache was unfortunately placed in a spot that people started using as a shortcut to the lower part of the trail. Eventually, the muggles got ahold of the cache container and stole the Cachemas presents that were left. All that was left was the logbook, and some signature items. This cache grew out of the remnants of the old cache, with a new location, and a bigger, and hopefully drier and more muggle-free container.

The new location is still at Sleeping Giant State Park - at a spot known as "The Giant's Left Knee". This is one of the high elevation spots, with a nice view of the tower and part of West Rock 150 feet west of the cache. The easier hike is from the eastern side, parking on Chestnut Lane off Mt Carmel Ave. near the kiosk. Find your own trails!

It's not an extreme climb, but it's a good cardiovascular challenge. It is rocky in places, and wet weather and fall leaves will make the trail hazardous in places. Snow and ice can make the trails treacherous, so use your own best judgment.

If you see something you like, and don't have a trade - just take it and put something in another cache when you do have something. I'll restock when necessary. Don't forget the other caches on "The Giant".
