Geocache Description:

A beautiful walk just across from the Pinkham Notch AMC camp. It is muddy at this time of the year (Nov.) and quite rocky - so please use precaution.

PLEASE NOTE: I am trying to keep this cache of higher quality trade items. I put a lot of thought into trying to place things in the cache I think people would like to find. If you do not have a quality item to trade - just leave a dollar. I promise I will not take it! :)

This cache takes you on a magical walk through beautiful woods with a flowing gentle river lined by mosscovered rocks, amazing trees growing on top of boulders, etc. If you are a photographer, you might want to bring a camera or you will likely kick yourself later.

This trail can be quite muddy and is very rocky as well. Be sure to wear proper footwear and keep hands free as much as possible. There was a mother and baby moose sighted when I placed the cache, so please keep watch. A mother moose with calf can be quite aggressive. If you see them, try to keep still and calm, without making eye contact. Due to the terrain and the possible encounter with the mother moose, I would not consider this a cache for children in the fall, winter and spring. In the busier and less muddy summertime, it would probably be safer for kids.

Park at the Pinkham Notch AMC Center and cross Route 16(carefully!) to Lost Pond Trail. Please do not wander more than a few feet off the trail, and do not go off to the right at all as the forest on that side is being revegitated. The cache is no more than 5-6 feet off the main trail on the left. Follow the trail along the river, enjoying the exquisite beauty. Please be on the lookout for muggles and hide the cache very well - it is only a few feet off the trail.

If you continue up past the cache there is lovely "Lost Pond" which is a nice place to spend some relaxing hours. That is, if you manage to drag yourself away from the beautiful river!

The cache is STUFFED so please take care when opening it and make sure everything gets back in! Please return any items in plastic baggies back to their place so they stay nice (hopefully) for the next person. I didn't put any first to find items in here specifically - but I did place Hidnseek's Red Handed Coin in the cache as well as assorted other goodies like bootsocks, a stuffed green bug, jar candle, ponchos, small diecast cars, flashlights, etc. I personally think they're all pretty nice - and I hope you do too! :)
