De rietplas cache is een cache door stedelijk gebied in Houten
zuid. Vrijwel de gehele route gaat over verharde wegen. Houd je
hier niet van, dan raden we je af om deze cache te doen. Om deze
cache te kunnen doen moet je niet bang zijn om vieze handen te
krijgen. Het is handig om een handdoek mee te nemen. Wanneer het
erg zonnig weer is kan het erg druk zijn rond de cache lokatie.
De cache bestaat uit een wandeling van ongeveer 3,5 KM, die alleen
lopend of met de fiets kan worden afgelegd. Het is af te raden om
deze cache in het donker te doen.
Omgeving
Sinds enige jaren is er in houten-zuid een nieuw meer aanwezig:
De Rietplas. De recreatieplas heeft twee functies: Het zand dat uit
het meer is gekomen is gebruikt om de lagere delen van Houten-Vinex
(Schonauwen en De Hoon)op te hogen en de plas heeft een recreatieve
functie. De plas heeft een oppervlak van ongeveer 13 hectare en een
diepte varierend van tientallen centimeters op doorwaterbare
plaatsen langs de zijkant, tot 12 meter onder NAP in het
midden.
De plas heeft vijf eilanden. Het eerste eiland is het wooneiland
Aquarelle. Verder zijn er twee eilanden nabij de wijk Overdam, een
natuureiland bij de wijk Hofstad (bekend van de gelijknamige groep)
en is er een wooneiland met daarop de vissershuizen.
De Cache
De cache bestaat uit een wandeling van ongeveer 3,5 KM
1. Parkeer je auto in de buurt van N 52°01.057' -
E005°11.627'
2. Ga naar N 52°01.143' - E005°11.350'. Op dit
punt is een zwart paaltje met daar op een blauw bordje te vinden. A
= Bovenste getal op bordje
3. Ga naar N 52°01.183' - E005°11.A+38'. Op dit
punt staat aan de rechterkant een schuur. Welke kleur heeft deze
schuur?
Bruin B = 28
Blauw B=33
Geel B = 22
Rood B = 16
4. Ondertussen ben je op een brug beland. Tel alle vreemd
gevormde lantaarnpalen op deze brug (ook op de 2 aftakkingen)
C = aantal lantaarns
5. Ga naar N 52°01.(c × 10-110)+B' - E005°11.433'.
Hier vind je een bordje. Welke beoordelingsrichtlijn is van
toepassing op dit bordje?
D = eerste 2 cijfers van beoordelingsrichtlijn (voor de / )
6. Ga naar N 52°01.(A+C+D-11)' -
E005°11.7(C-9)'. Je staat hier bij een tunneltje
E = nummer van het tunneltje
7. Ga naar N52 01.(E × 30 + 8) E5 11.(D × 10 +
E).
Hier moet je op zoek naar het volgende coordinaat. Toen deze cache
er net lag hadden veel mensen problemen met dit punt, dus daarom de
volgende hint: Je moet in het water zoeken, ga op zoek naar een
touwtje.
8. Ga naar het gevonden coordinaat.
Hier moet je op zoek gaan naar het eindpunt van de cache. Het stuk
weg waar je nu over moet kan af en toe aardig druk zijn, pas hier
dus goed op. Ga niet de eerste weg rechts op, dit is de rondweg, en
daar mogen alleen auto's op komen!

"De rietplas cache" is a cache through a suburbian area in
Houten zuid. Almost the entire route leads over paved paths, If you
don't like that, you'd better not do this cache.
The cache consists of a route of 3.5KM. You can only do this
cache walking, or by bicycle. We advbice you not to do this cache
while it's dark.
Surroundings
Since a few years there's a new lake in Houten-zuid, it's called
"De Rietplas". The lake has two functions: The sand that came out
of the lake was used to make the lower places of Houten zuid higer
(Schonauwen and De Hoon) and the lake is used for recreational
purposes. The lake has a surface area of about 13 hectares and a
depth varieng from places where you can just wade through onto 12
meters below NAP.
The lake has got fuve islands. The first island is the inhabited
island aquarelle. There are two islands near the suburb Overdam, a
nature island near the susburb Hofstad and a island with fishermans
houses.

2. Go to N 52°01.143' - E005°11.350' On this
point you will find a a black pole with a blue plate on it.
A = the most above number on the plate
3. Go to N 52°01.183' - E005°11.A+38' On this
point you will find a barn at the righhand sid of you.
Which color is the barn?
Brown B = 28
Blue B=33
Yelow B = 22
Red B = 16
4. In the meanwhile you arrived at a bridge. Count al the wierd
shaped lapposts on the bridge (also on the two short sections)
C = number of lamp posts
5. Go to N 52°01.(c*10-110)+B' -
E005°11.433'. At this point you'll fina a sign. find the
"beoordelingsrichtlijn"
D = first two digits of the
'beoordelingsrichtlijn' (before the /)
6. Go to N 52°01.(A+C+D-11)' -
E005°11.7(C-9)'. At this point you'll find a tunnel
E = number of the tunnel
7. Go to N52 01.(E × 30 + 8) E5 11.(D × 10 +
E).
Here you'll have to find the next coordinates. In the beginngin a
lot of peaple had big trouble to find this point, so here's a hint:
You'll have to search in the water, find a little rope.
8. Go to the coordinate you've found.
At this point you'll have to search for the final coordiantes of
the cache. The road you'll have to cross now can be quite crowded,
so watch out! don't go the first road right, take the next one.
