Old Rail Road Fishing Bridge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This is a favorite fishing hole of many local fishermen.

This is an old rail road the has been converted into a "Rails to Trails" trail. This bridge was built to cross Mahoning Creek when the rail road was active, but has long since been abandoned. The bridge was rebuilt during the spring of 2006 as part of Montour County's Park and Recreation Authority. Come the opening day of trout season this area is a buzz of fishermen.

Bushwacking should not be needed if you follow the paths and clearings.

Safe off the road parking is at 40 59.154 76 37.950, just off Route 642 West, which will give you a short walk down the old rail road bed. Please do not drive down the trail to the bridge, but park with-in the first 100 feet or so. Or you can park along Route 54 just past the bridge.

Cache at start contained, small deck of playing cards, two paper fans, hacky sac, log book, Green Jeep TB and first to find prize.
