Hidden 4 July 06 on the Isla Margarita as a replacement cache for the first cache on the island! THANKS ALL WHO HAVE HELPED MAINTAIN THIS CACHE SINCE WE PUT IT OUT. PEOPLE HAVE REPLACED THE LOG AND EVEN LEFT A BRAND NEW NICE LOCK AND LOCK CACHE TO KEEP THIS CACHE ALIVE. THANKS AGAIN ALL!!!!!!
This cache was placed as a replacement for the first cache on The Isla Margarita which was archived because it came up missing and the owners(Andre+Tatiana) lived 6,000 miles away in Germany! We are condo owners at The DuneS Resort only 2 1/2 miles away as the frigate bird flies! So we plan on returning to the sunny beaches of the isla many times in the future! There is lots of parking up above the cache as this is a fantastic spot for photography and there is a small sandy secluded beach just down the trail from the parking area! This is a great spot to watch the sunsets and the EFE icecream man can usually be found in the parking area! The cache is an old blue/yellow lays plastic potato chip container painted black! It kinda blends in with some of the other garbage in the area unfortunately! As you get close to the cache watch out for the numerous cactus and all of the broken glass! You do not have to get off the trail and go bush wacking, the cache is at the base of a medium sized rock on the downhill side of the trail! Please, be careful replacing the cache and do not drop any large rocks on it when re-hiding it.
