Geocache Description:

Cache is a small rectangular tupperware box situated within the One Tree Hill Country Park, close to Langdon Hills and Basildon.

One Tree Hill Country Park has forested and open areas and is home to some 50 species of bird and 28 species of butterfly.

If approaching from the A13, take the Five Bells roundabout exit and follow the signs to Langdon Hills Country Park (along Southend Road - B1420).

Parking can be found at N 51 32.895, E 00 26.782 where there is an information point, picnic area and toilet facilities. The car park is open from 8.00am til dusk.
Alternative parking can be found at N 51 32.768, E 00 26.792 if you feel like a walk up the hill!

Just beyond the information point there are panoramic views of the Thames Estuary where there are seats so you can take a breather from caching and take in the view.

Across the road from the information point you can see the longest pier in the world, at Southend (but only on a clear day and you may need binoculars).

For added fun, see if you can find the wooden sculptures situated around the country park, these were created by local sculptor - Dave Chapple.
