Bzerk Park+Rec Orphans #15: Cedar Rose Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no response to my previous note, I assume that the cache is not going to be repaired or replaced, so I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

This is a small container, approximately 1 pint in capacity, covered in camouflage duct tape and hidden in one of Berkeley's cache-less parks.

This is the latest in a continuing series of hides that I place in Berkeley parks that don't have caches (and are eligible for caches). I wanted to do some more hides; Berkeley has many parks without caches... seemed like a good match. I am seeing a lot of Berkeley's smaller parks, and noticing things that I might not have seen otherwise; perhaps you hunters will appreciate this, too.

Cedar Rose Park is relatively large as the Berkeley city parks go, covering almost 5 acres. It has facilities for several sports (tennis, basketball, volleyball, soccer), and has been my venue of choice over the past several years to see the San Francisco Mime Troupe's annual show. Located close to North Berkeley BART, and along the Ohlone Greenway, it enjoys a prime location within the North Berkeley "flats."

Berkeley parks are open from 6am to 10pm (unless otherwise posted). Please represent responsible Geocaching, and respect the rules of the park.

The cache itself is a camo-taped small cylinder, appx 3" diam x 4" tall, about 1 pint in capacity. Please exercise stealth; the difficulty is partially muggle-related.

You may find parking for some of this series to be somewhat challenging. I encourage you to find out how bikeable/walkable/transit-able (most of) Berkeley's parks can be. (The ones that are hardest to transit/walk to have the easiest parking; funny how that works out. %-} )

FTF: SnoWake! Congratulations!
