2 stage multi-cache with no math. Final coordinates are posted at the Stage 1 at the Point of Interest. Field puzzle provided in case posted numbers are illegible or missing. Geochecker added to cache page and there is cell service at the Point of Interest.
This cache has evolved over time since its original placement in 2008, when it’s original first stage was adjacent to parking. The original gadget first stage has been removed. Ignore the posted coordinates and go straight to the current Stage 1.
Hike from Parking to Point of Interest is approximately ½ mile. Final location is somewhere along the way back for a total hike of about 1 mile. You can search every nook and cranny for the cache on your way in, trying to save a few steps, but you’ll miss the Point of Interest and all you will have seen is a pointless box.
This cache takes you to an elevated wooden platform located along the edge of the Allegheny Front directly upslope of the Peggy Westover Curve. There is a picnic table and fire ring, so bring a lunch. Also a spot to tie up your horses.
Be sure to wear orange during hunting season!
The final cache is located at N40° 12.xxx / W 078° 40.yyy, with the x's and y's filled in from information posted at Stage 1.
If for some reason the stage 1 clue is missing, we created the following bypass:
x’s = LKA y’s = MGC
Use the existing feature at the stage 1 to fill in the coordinates!
AB = # of planks on the deck
C = # of planks creating each step tread
DE = # of stair treads
FG = # of joists holding up the deck
H = # of posts holding up deck and access
K = B+1
L = E+3
M = H-3

This cache is placed in memory of Mr. John Denver whose love of the outdoors birthed ours so many years ago.
"To the mountains, I can rest there. To the river, I will be strong. To the forest, I'll find peace there. To the wild country, where I belong." John Denver
