Whitlingham Country Park is on the outskirts of Norwich, accessed
from the ring road by County Hall. Head for Trowse and turn into
Whitlingham Lane.
Parking is either by the visitor centre and barn (pay and
display) or nearer the cache site (no cost).
While you are there, you can explore the different walking
trails, look out for wildlife, enjoy watersports on the Great and
Little Broads, watch the boats pass through on the waterways,
forage around in the woodland, watch birds, or meander along the
Wherryman's Way footpath that passes through the park.
The National Cycle Network also passes through and getting there
on your bike is a great way to arrive.
A picnic meadow is provided if you want to take advantage of
good weather, or you can sit on the riverbank to watch the boats go
by.
You are looking for a regular-sized cache in a transparent
plastic box, clearly identified with a green Geocaching
sticker.
It contains the usual small gifts plus a camera for you to take
a snap of yourself with and then replace in the cache ready for the
next person. Please don't take it as a reward for finding the
cache! Don't forget to sign the logbook.
The cache fits into its hiding place very tightly, it can
only come out and go in one way! Please make sure you slot it back
in as far as you can to stop it being found accidentally. Thank
you!
The route to the cache has some quite steep ascents and descents
but is still accessible with bikes and buggies, assuming you arrive
on the footpath. No climbing is required!
