Maritime Geocaching Association
The name for this cache is to help remind people that if you're a geocacher, you're not alone!
The Maritime Geocaching Association (MGA) is an association of cachers from all over Nova Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick. Started in the summer of 2004, this group includes many of Geocaching.com's top hiders and finders in the Maritimes. The discussion boards contain a wealth of information for new cachers about caching etiquette, how to make your first cache hides better, upcoming events, and more. The cache reviewers also occasionally use the forums to let people know of updates or changes to the rules of the game.
The Atlantic Canada Geocaching website is similar in many respects and covers all four Atlantic provinces. Begun near the end of 2005, it is active in promoting geocaching in the region.
There are also now other smaller groups for local areas, such as Fredericton and Lunenburg County. So, even if you don't see many other cachers on the trails, a visit to one of these sites will show you how many of us there are around!
