Geocache Description:

You are cordially invited to an event cache to see off local geocacher Son of Windswept, AKA Paul and "Mrs Pointy Stick" who are just about to move permanently to France.

Place : Chinnor, Oxfordshire

Can you be more specific please? : Paul's place (see below for more info)

Date : Sunday 12th February

Time : 16:00hrs

Not wishing to let "Son of Windswept" escape discreetly, this event has been put together to give them a good old send off. As Paul has sold his house, he has decided that he is strangely relaxed about letting a bunch of geocachers come in and trample around the place.

He is SO going to regret putting this pic up on the www!

The general idea of the event is for cachers to be able to fit in some local caching and then retire to "chèz le fils de windswept" to warm up and enjoy some refreshments. Drinks and snacks will be provided. There are several caches in the local area, including the Ridgeway Run series, which runs right through the village, plus it is intended to put out some new ones to co-incide with the event. Doubtless a caching possé or two will assemble earlier in the day to set off and bag those caches!

The co-ords at the top of the page are for the general vicinity. Full details will be sent to all people who express an interest in coming. For some reason Paul is strangely loathe to put his address up on the web! As this is an official geocaching.com event cache, everyone is welcome, so don't be put off if you have not met Son of Windswept (or even if you have, LOL!!

Latest News

Due to popular demand, some people will be meeting up in the pub at 12.00 to form into caching groups to go out hunting some local caches. We have decided upon The Red Lion. Please see the map attached to my cache note, but it is on the main drag B4009, though the village, so you should find it pretty easily. We will not be there all afternoon though so contact me if you would like my mobile number if you want to find out where we have got to later on (or if you cannot find Paul's place at 4.00pm for the event!).

Team Hippo and Sensei & gang have been working hard putting out new local caches which will be available from about 12.00 on Sunday. Here are the links I have got thus far (may not all be live yet!).
