Geocache Description:

This cache is located near a stone monument that was placed in 1858 by Northport resident Elias Persinger. It marks the corner where Sections 15, 16, 21, & 22 of Township 21S, Range 10W in Tuscaloosa County is located. This is also near a railroad trestle built in 1898. It has been purported that this is the largest wooden trestle located east of the Mississippi River.

There is a great article that was published in The Tuscaloosa News on January 8, 2006, by Ben Windham entitled “Southern Lights: A Tale of Two Cities in One Marker” that tells more of this story.

This cache is located far enough away from the marker so that it shouldn’t be disturbed.

The area is accessible at all times, but this portion isn’t lighted. Shouldn't be hard to find.
