GCMC - Calgary Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ibycus: Visited the site today, and the cache was indeed in a new "No Access" area. Remember people... Just because a cache is there doesn't mean you're allowed to be there.

Removed the cache to prevent any further attempts to log it.

When I get a chance I'll probably place it somewhere else and set up a new cache listing there.

In the interim, anyone local wanting either the long hints, or the short hints from this cache, drop me a line.

Geocache Description:

The Calgary Portion of the Great Canadian Multi Cache

It's finally here. The long awaited great Canadian Multi Cache.

I thought it would be fun to have a multi cache set up that would require you to communicate with your fellow cachers from across the country. This cache will provide you with some puzzle pieces that you can trade with cachers working on the rest of the series in different cities.

Each site has two caches, an initial and a final cache. This is the initial cache.

In the initial caches, are placed short hints and long hints. Your goal is to gather all the short hints, from the caches at the various sites, and put them together with the ones you'll find here, and then use them to decode your local long hint. (You don't need the long hints from the other caches).

The decoded message can then be used to locate the local 'final' cache.

I think most Calgarians are pretty in to the puzzles, so I'll leave it at that for the hints (you can check out the other GCMC pages, or e-mail me if you need some more help).

It is important to note that one of the obvious ways in to this cache site seems to take you on to private property. The signs in the area are out of date. Apparently the city purchased the area back in 2000, and it is now officially part of Bowmont park.

There are however some dangerous artifacts (I've heard a few people mention their dogs getting stuff gouging their paws around there), so I would suggest keeping your distance.

Stick to the river, and you'll be fine.
