Geocache Description:

This is my Monty Python tribute cache, located in a well known local park full of ducks, should the need for one arise.

This is a lovely little park in downtown Morgantown, right on the banks of the Mon river. However, most people are not aware of the dark past of this location. For it is here, in 1132 A.D. that a famous trial took place.

A young lady was brought before the lord of the land, one Sir Bedivere, on charges of turning an upstanding member of the community into a newt. (He got better.)

An upstanding citizen

The citizenry were convinced that the young lady was a witch, and wanted to burn her. In truth, she was dressed as one, albeit the nose was false, as was the wart, but she was a witch!

A witch!

Sir Bedivere, being wise in the ways of science, knew there were ways of telling whether she was a witch. The following proof established the young lady's guilt.

Thou shalt count to three. No more. No less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three.

1: What do you do with witches? You burn them.

2: Why do witches burn? Because they are made of wood.

5: (three, Sire) Therefore, if the young lady is made of wood, she is a witch.

3: (Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three) How do you tell if she is made of wood, you may ask? Why simply. Wood, among other things (such as bread, apples, cider, very small rocks, gravy, cherries, mud, churches, lead and ducks) floats on water.

3: (Five is right out!) Therefore, if the young lady were to weigh the same as a duck, she would logically be made of wood and therefore a witch.

They used his largest scales.

His largest scales

She weighed the same as a duck (it was a fair cop) and Bedivere, because he was so wise in the ways of science, went into the service of Arthur (King of the Britons, Defeater of the Saxons, and Sovereign of all England (even those who fancy themselves part of autonomous collectives)).

This is a small geocache. The cache container is a small plastic box approximately 2x1x4". Obviously, because of the location, some stealth will be required. The original contents of this cache are a log and pencil. There is room for some small SWAG, but I have not left any. Feel free to add it, though!
