Utah Copper park is home to many of the local festivities and
has lots of potential since it's really not been discovered yet.
The biggest event for the area is when this grand old park with
lots of trees and grass is the host to Utah's biggest privately
funded 4th of July celebration. Little known to most outsiders, it
is this celebration for which residents of Magna donate money each
year because we feel it's important to make it happen for the
community.
The 4th of July celebration generally starts out with a car
show, and beauty pagent, and a pancake breakfast in the park put on
by the local chapter of the Lions. Then, there's a parade to the
park, all kinds of music, dancing, a carnival, and finally,
Fireworks.
The best thing about the 4th of July celebration is that it's
almost old fashioned in that you really get to see so many old
friends who come back just to be a part of the event. I frequently
use this park for picnics and to bring my dog and let him play
since it is generally really quiet in the winter and rarely used
and close to home. Kids are welcome here - there are 2 playgrounds,
a couple baseball diamonds, a basketball court, and tennis court.
There's also a horseshoe pit, vollyball area, pavillians and plenty
of space to run.
So, why is this cache called "To Da Park (Woo-Woo!)" two reasons.
One is because if I ask my dog does he want to go to da park, he
always wags his tail and barks (as in woo-woo). The second? Well...
if you look closely at one of the playgrounds, you'll see something
else that should go "woo-woo".
* If you can't find this cache, email me with what else would go
"woo-woo" if you were pretending as a kid.
