Geocache Description:

This cache was jointly owned by Jonny (Tykejnr) who provided the inspiration and the leg-work and Uncle Keith of Two Tykes who contributed the brain-power. The co-ordinates given are of the start of the first section of the walk – the final coordinates are to be calculated from the clues given. The GPS accuracy should be about ten feet.

This cache is based upon the classic 1970 film of E. Nesbitt’s story “The Railway Children” which was filmed on and around the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. To complete this cache you will be asked to follow the “Railway Children Walk” as found on the web pages:
Railway Children Walk 1
and
Railway Children Walk 2
which you should print out to take on your journey. It is probably feasible to gather the information without completing the full walk, but we'd rather let you experience the full benefit as we enjoyed it so! As you walk the route you will need to pick up clues which will give you the means to calculate the final co-ordinates of the cache. These clues are all in order around the route. The ground is often boggy and/or slippery – suitable footwear should be worn. The full walk is about 5 miles, but may be split into two sections; the first section (Walk 1) will give the latitude and the second (Walk 2) the longitude. The final cache is within two miles of Haworth Railway Station and from the cache site much of the walking route can be viewed. (Parking is available nearby.) You are looking for a 2litre “Tupperware” box full of bits and pieces to do with railways in general and the K&WVLR in particular – we would like to keep this theme going if possible. PLEASE don't take the logbook and pencil - tempting though it may be! ___________________________________________________________
