Geocache Description:

Through recorded time, as far back as the ancient Egyptians of 2,600 BC, societies have erected monuments to celebrate their leaders and heroes. The oldest surviving obelisk is believed to be >3900 years old.

We in St. Charles have our own obelisk of sorts. Other, more celebrated monuments were designed by the leading architects of the day, but the identity of the creator of ours may very well be lost for ever.

The monument is surrounded by thriving landscaping that tends to hide the beauty of the structure, but it sure makes a great place to stash a cache.

The cache is a camo'd container, hidden off the ground, quite visible from just the right position, and requires no breaking, bending or other mayhem to be done to the landscaping.

The area is kid, stroller and wheelchair accessible, in any weather, but only during daylight park hours. There is a very good play ground nearby, and lots of space for the kids to run around in.

There is a second cache nearby, at the other end of the same city park -
Levee Loot. If you haven't already logged it, it's an easy "twofer".

Enjoy!!
