THIRD STREET STATION Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Lord Stirling: Unfortunately the cache owner didn't respond to my previous note, so this cache is being archived. If the owner would like to fix this cache and have it unarchived, that is possible as long as it still conforms to the guidelines. Contact the local reviewer, Electric Mouse, in order to have this done.

Regards,
Lord Stirling

Geocache Description:

Located near the Third Street Station

In 1903 Bismarck, the Capital City of North Dakota contracted for a street car line to run from the business district to the State Capitol. The state-owned trolley line ran from Ninth Street along Main Avenue to Fourth Street and then North on Fourth to the old Capitol Building. The trolley operated without a franchise from 1906 to 1931. Today the restored trolley is operating between the Third Street Station and Fort Abraham Lincoln south of Mandan. The trolley runs four times a day during the summer season.
Historical Fort Abraham Lincoln is a historical treasure consisting of the fort itself earth lodges of the MANDAN Indians and block houses used by Custers 7th Cavalry. If you are searching for Geocaches during the summer trolley season it may interest you to ride the scenic Trolley ride and search for a few cache sites in the Ft. Lincoln area also.
