In the Simmons Arboretum past our favorite swinging bridge. The arboretum is a wonderful natural spot.
Ammo box with mostly kid stuff,a log,and a travel bug. Parking available at N 32 27.004 W 090 04.502 at the East end of Saint Augustine Road on the right (past Northbay Subdiv). Start from trail head on left (water) side of the lot, though the other trails also eventually take you to right trail. In general, keep on trail veering S & E toward Reservoir. Wear mosquito spray and stay on path due to poison ivy. (Or enter from Natchez Trace and follow your compass.) Trails are a little more rugged post-Katrina and the water level is kept higher in the summer so you might have to "build a bridge" to the pier. Many boy scouts have built bridges back on the trails as Eagle projects. There are actually 2 swinging bridges. The trails are fun to explore, at least one takes you to the Natchez Trace where you can cross and go to the big part of the reservoir.
