Along NC 215 between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Sunburst Campground.
A mountain drive will bring you right to this sign only cache. The road follows the West Fork of the Pigeon River. Parking for 2 vehicles is available near the cache.
In the early 1900s up until late 1920s this was a very busy logging community. Some of the logging settlements that are now only memories were Spruce, East Fork and Sunburst. Visit the exhibit at Sunburst Campground for photos of the community.
The cache is located near a rock bridge upstream from where Sam Branch meets West Fork. You will NOT have to cross the guard rail or the rock wall to find. Bring your camera because the falls are spectacular.
