This is a small micro geocache. When replacing the log, please put the log in the lid of the container first. As always, with a small cache, bring your own pen.
Island Park is a great place to take kids in Winfield, Kansas. It is encircled by water and there are lots of ducks, geese, and we assume fish, since people fish here. Years ago Chautauqua’s were held here. There is a wonderful playground, horseshoe pits (bring your own horseshoes) and picnic tables. There are lots of memorials in the park and a neat bathroom painted by a Winfield artist. Plan to spend some time here.
Please be aware that the cache is unavailable from early November to January 1 each year, as the park is closed for the Christmas lighting display. If you happen to be in the area during that time, the Christmas lighting display is worth a visit.
