My Purple Heaven Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Skookum Bear: As the cache owner has not indicated that they have visited the cache location to replace it if it was missing, perform needed maintenance, or verify that it is still there within a reasonable amount of time, I am regretfully archiving the cache to clear it from the active cache database and open the area to new caching opportunities. If the cache owner would like to replace a cache at this location, please submit a new geocache listing and it will be reviewed under the current Geocaching guidelines.

Please do not respond to this note by sending an email reply - your response will go to an unmonitored location and disappear into the ether instead of being sent to me. If you need to contact me regarding this cache, please do so using the link on my Profile Page

Geocache Description:

This short jaunt is a great way to stretch your legs when driving highway 3 through Fernie BC. Park at the Mount Fernie Provincial Park day use area.

Unless you want to experience a lot of bush bashing, immediately cross Lizard creek to the south side over the wooden bridge.
If you are lucky, you will visit this cache during the right season when the purple treats that inspired the cache's name are ripe.
The cache is located in a small rubbermaid container. Please do not put any food or scented items into the cache. This is bear territory!
If you have time, enjoy the picnic area and other short trails near the creek.
This is our first cache. Hope you enjoy it. We plan to put more in the Fernie area soon.
