Geocache Description:

The name comes from the shape of the formation. A Pequot Chief Sassacus hid out here from the British in the 1600's. It's been visited by tourists since the mid 1800's.

This was private property until recently. A combination of state, town, county and citizen groups bought it. It is still in the process of having a parking area installed. Old trespassing signs are in the proccess of being removed. I suggest parking at N 41 44.468 W 073 35.319. Thats on Cart road off of route 22. Gps accuracy was way off near the site
(you'll see why) so I'm giving a really good hint. The cache is just a way to show you this site. Have Fun.
