Geocache Description:

Some caches have a great view well others are an adventure to get to but how many are educational. Here our attempt at one. Hope you enjoy it.

Poison Oak noun : In both senses also called poison ivy
1. A North American shrub or vine (Toxicodendron radicans syn. Rhus radicans) that has compound leaves with three leaflets, small green flowers, and whitish berries and that causes a rash on contact.
2. A skin rash caused by contact with this plant.

Riparian \rih-PAIR-ee-uhn; ry-PAIR-ee-uhn\, adjective: of or pertaining to the bank of a river or stream

As you walk along this trail leading from Oak Riparian Park, take sometime to look around and see the large amount of vegetation including the numerous Coastal Oaks that line the banks of this small creek which feed into Lake Calaveras. During your hike, you’ll inevitable see some Poison Oak. This is a great place to see what it looks like without coming across it the hard way. Depending on the time of year, it may be Green or Red. No Poison Oak is around the cache but it can be found on both sides of the trail leading to and from the cache. No need to bushwhack, cache is just off the trail. Cache is a small uniquely camouflaged container big enough for a logbook and a few small items. PLEASE BRING A PEN.

You can park at N 33° 10.594 W 117° 16.155, and begin at trailhead N 33° 10.563 W 117° 16.198
