Cache Hawks: We had hoped to put this cache back into good shape, but the area has become so overgrown that it is no longer a "fun" cache. Therefore we have decided to archive the cache. Thanks to all who found it and enjoyed it.

This is a four-stage multi cache which will take you on a short walk around the north end of the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
The posted coordinates are for Cache #1 which is a film canister containing the coordinates for the next stage. Caches #2 and #3 are “unspecified” containers and they will continue to point you along the trail until you find the final Cache #4 which is a camouflaged one-liter Lock&Lock container. The trail is level and easy to walk and the total distance for this cache is relatively short. The north end of Wawanosh is an area of ongoing tree planting and it avoids the flooding that periodically affects the southern wetland area of the park.
The Wawanosh Wetlands is a small, converted wetland area east of Sarnia and is just off of Blackwell Side Road north of Highway 402. The site was formerly a borrow pit used to excavate material needed for the construction of Highway 402. The property was purchased by the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority in 1985 and they worked with Ducks’ Unlimited to create a marsh on the site. The marsh is now flourishing and has become a home for a wide variety of wildlife. The site attracts birders to view the diverse array of waterfowl and birds which use the area during migration and throughout the rest of the year. It is also a popular spot for families to walk and bring their dogs to. There is parking at N 42* 59.830 W 082* 19.490.
