In the summertime, the grass leading to the cache site gets a bit
long. Also, wear insect repellent! The mosquitos
are thick!
Most of the walk to the cache is on a paved path. To find the
cache, you will need to go into the brush about 100 ft or so. My 7
and 4 1/2 year old kids had no problem getting to the cahce
site.
After visiting the site, head out of the undergrowth toward the
north/northeast. There is a nice dirt path that follows the lake.
Taking the path toward the west provides some nice views of the
lake and will lead to a couple paths that take you back to the
parking lot.
This cache was my daughter's idea for something to do for her 7th
birthday. So, I hid it with some small bags of goodies for her and
her brother to have when they found the cache.
The cache is a standard ammo container with a log book, pencils,
and a pencil sharpener (to remain in the cache). For exchange,
there are a variety of party favors and "Happy Birthday" balloons.
Since it is the "Birthday" cache, I thought I'd stick with a party
theme for the original contents. However, it is not a theme cache.
So, you do not have to trade only "birthday party"
related items.
Please do a good job of re-hiding the cache. I don't want someone
to stumble upon it. Even though it is not within site of a path, I
am fairly cetain people walk through the area - though probably
infrequently.
