This one is for AtoZ whom I keep telling that it is OK to place a cache on the ground, note its coordinates, and let me find it! LOL!!!
Parking for the trailhead can be found at N 39.45.967, W 105.12.854. From here the hike can be short or up to a mile depending on the route you take. If you want an AtoZ challenge, hike up to the cliffs and then scale them (see picture below). From the top it is a leisurely walk to the cache. The difficulty level then goes to a 5 since you will need special gear. But if your harness and climbing gear has mothballs, you can take the route I did. Simply walk the trail until you are nearly at the top of the cliffs. While it may be a moderate gain of about 400 feet to start, the trail then follows the cliffs at an easier pace. Once on the flat top, walk to the cache which is in the obvious place in the rocks. Not a rockpile, just something to keep the cache from blowing away.
Cache is at an elevation of 6430 feet. It is a larger pill bottle with a log and a whistle. Not much room for trading items as the whistle filled it up. Bring your own pen.
Enjoy the views!
