Geocache Description:

Charlie's_angels consented to my adoption of this geocache so I elected to bring it into the Lake Trash series. The original Final Stage was displaced by the Lake Weatherford Boardwalk, so it has been moved to another location. Charlie's_angels indicated a desire for the container to be similar to the original, so it is a medium to large container that, at least at this moment, is newly stocked with plenty of plunder. So... DON'T BE GREEDY!

--------------------------------------------------

Isaac Parker was a fighter. He fought in the War of 1812, and under Andrew Jackson in the Creek Indian War of 1813-1814. He fought for Texas independence and was a friend to Sam Houston. In 1841, he fought Indians in the Battle of Village Creek in what is now Arlington, TX. At around 70 years of age, he fought in the Civil War as a member of the Texas Brigade. Parker, while serving in the legislature, joined with Senator Thomas Jefferson Weatherford to introduce a bill to establish Parker County. The cabin in which he lived while a resident of Tarrant County was restored by Amon Carter and eventually relocated to Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth. Another interesting factoid is that Isaac Parker fathered a son, Adam, in 1879 at the age of 86. Parker was buried in Turner Cemetery less than a mile from this spot. I would have placed the Final Stage in the cemetery but the gate is locked and permission is required for entry. Besides, the cemetery is nestled closely to a couple of private residences and geocaching traffic would not be appropriate. This peninsula is named Parker Point in his honor and is now the site of many beautiful lakeside homes. If you are interested, there is plenty of information about him online. This geocache ties into another series placed just west of Lake Weatherford in Quanah Hill Park to commemorate the life of Comanche warrior Quanah Parker, who was a great-nephew of Isaac Parker.

There is a commemorative marker placed at the posted coordinates with information about Isaac Parker. There is also a cool water well-looking structure nearby. I'm not sure what the significance of it is, but you could go over and make a wish for a quick find, or some such. A = the number of days he enjoyed the age of 90; E = the last digit of the year he arrived in Texas; F = the last digit of the year the marker was erected.

A.BC - D.EF = 5.60; The Final Stage is at N 32 4A.BC1 W 97 4D.EF1
