This cache has been archived.

tiddalik: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. At this first location, you'll find the artwork depicted in the photo above. The X Marker is on the end of the bluestone wall. This is the starting point, but it's referenced more for convenience and information. Muggles aside, this cache should only take you 15 minutes.

This is the major component of the artwork. The remainder are four plaques embedded in granite which refer to an often forgotten part of history - soldiers leaving for the Second World War. The work is from the rarely heard point of view of the women and children who were left behind and in some cases never saw their loved ones again.

To find your final destination, complete the blanks with words from the lists below each phrase.

You should now be at an information panel that has some interesting history about a structure that used to be at Station Pier. Though not one of the (MMM) markers, I thought this was an interesting piece of local history to share with you all as part of the cache.

To find the final location, collect the following information off the panel:

  • The length of the bridge: JKL
  • The year the bridge was demolished: MNOP

The cache is a 1L lunchbox as the final cache!
