Geocache Description:

Small cache at a major crossroads on the Old Federal Road route

Continuing the Old Federal Road series of caches near historic markers describing the trade route established with the Cherokee tribes.

The Cherokee formally granted permission to use these roads in the 1805 Treaty of Tellico. This marker is at a crossroads of two US highways in an empty lot. The cache is less than 20' from the marker/sign. There are some briars nearby, be careful! You don't need to go into the ditch at all; keep your feet on dry, level ground. Please BYOP; log-sheet only.
