This cache is located on Route 662 in the Starnes Bluff area of
Scott County, VA. The church is Starnes Bluff Evangelical Methodist
Church. The Road is a very rural two-lane dirt road. The road is
not heavily traveled. Parking is in front of the church.
Some of the first settlers into this area were from the Starnes
family. This family has done extensive genealogical research and
can trace their ancestry back to Germany in the early 1600s.
Johnson Wade Starnes (1827-1911) donated the land on which this
church was built. Be sure to read both sides of the marker before
you leave. This cache is a very well stocked ammo can. It begins
with very many good items. It is very close to the "road" leading
around to the cemetery. Do not travel into the bush here. Some
stealth may be required at times as there is a house overlooking
the church. Please hide back as well or better.
