Sam Michaels Park is approximately 120 acres of rolling meadows, woods, parking areas, and baseball fields located at an elevation of approximately 480 feet.
The cache is a traditional cache contained in a 2 quart plastic jar w/ screw on lid. It contained small rubber dinasaurs, lizards, frogs, stickers, unsharpened pencils, kids rulers, toy cars, a log book w/ pencil and the like when originally placed. It was placed on a winter day, but looking for it in the summer time will involve a lot more briars and thorns, so be careful. Difficulty may vary, depending on the season. The cache is one of three that we've placed along the newly marked perimeter trail.
A portion of this parkland is encircled by a 6' chain link fence with gates that are often locked. This is a special event area and the cache is not inside this area! A new Recreation Center is being constructed on the park property and should be open in the fall of 2006.
*This cache was placed with permission of the Jefferson County Parks & Recreation Department*
Have fun and good luck!
