Geocache Description:

Fairly level, nice view, lots of dead brush, definitely a no hunting area!

You are looking for an ammocan loaded with the typical goodies, a logbook, a couple of ink pens, multiple toys for the kiddies in the crowd and the TB for the FTF. To do this cache properly, drive west on Waterwell Road and come south on Hohneck. Actually the Colorado Rockies featured on the top of the old Colorado license tags were the inspiration for this hide. Numerous times over the years I have noticed that from Hohneck Road the Smoky Hill Buttes to the Southeast look like that skyline used on the Colorado plates. If you cannot see it, that's OK, you are just after another find anyway. You will drive by some remnants from the active days of the old Smoky Hill Airforce Base, defensive reminders as my younger and smarter brother would pass along. Speaking of him, this container is definitely of the SASO362 approved variety.

If you hear lots and lots of machine gun fire, it is at the nearby National Guard Rifle Range. On good days you may see any kind of warbirds out here. My favorites are when the black helicopters are practicing manuevers. Not a good place to bear arms as you will definitely find yourself outgunned.

Do not drive south on Englund Road as that leads to a very restricted area.

Do not drive on Hohneck when wet, wreckers are expensive. Do drive slowly in this area as the deer population is much higher than the human population. Have fun!
