This cache is located along a trail on the edge of Badin Lake in the Uwharrie National Forest. The cache can be accessed either by foot or by boat. Suggested parking for boaters is the Cove Boat Ramp. For hikers, the closest parking area is the brand-new campground, follow signs to get there and or go to N35 26.881 W080 04.664 (thanks to Geo13 for those coords!).
The cache is a a small LnL in a hole in a tree about 3 ft high.
Uwharrie National Forest and Badin Lake offer a rich variety of outdoor recreation opportunities, including hiking, hunting, boating, outstanding fishing waters, geocaching and camping. Primitive camping is allowed anywhere on the National Forest land that borders the lake, and as well a developed campground (fee charged for camping)offers nice wooded sites with fire pits, picnic tables and bathhouses with hot showers.
