This is our second cache we located in the park. It is a 3 part cache that does require a little hiking. However you will enjoy a beautiful walk along the different trails the park has to offer.
McIntosh Reserve Park is a 527-acre facility operated through the Carroll County Recreation Department. Named for Chief William McIntosh, Jr., the park is located approximately 35 miles southwest of Atlanta and can be reached via GA Hwy 16 from Carrollton or Newnan, and GA Hwy 5 from Douglasville. A county maintained road that connects to GA Hwy 5 two miles west of Whitesburg, GA provides direct access to the park. The park is open year round with the exceptions of Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. Park hours are 8 am until Sundown*.
The final cache is a 5 gallon bucket painted in camo. It is filled with some scout stuff and plenty of other goodies.
8/19/2016 I have tried to maintain the intent of the original hide, but the Stage 1 info has disappeared again. I intend to replace it with something I hope will last longer, and getting the Stage 2 coordinates from GZ will be the easiest way to get them. But the following method can be used to get the coordinates for Stage 2 also.
Proceed northeast to the nearby structure.
Notice the identical green signs on the structure.
A = the number of signs
B = the number of words on one of the green signs.
C = the number of letters on one of the green signs.
D = the number of trees growing through the floor of the structure.
E = the number of steps up to the structure.
F = the number of benches on the structure.
P = the number of posts holding up the roof over part of the structure. (Watch out for bats)
There are two informational signs nearby - one on either side of the structure.
G = the last digit of the year Georgia Power relinquished the land
M = the sum of the first two digits of the mileage given relating to the Chattahoochee River in Georgia.
