Geocache Description:

Forest Ranger Approved - Green Ridge State Forest

This cache is located in the Green Ridge State Forest off of Interstate 68 in western Maryland. It is in a 50 cal ammo can about 200 yards off of an active Off road Vehicle Trail so some sort of 4X4 or 4 wheeler would be more fun way of finding this cache, but is not required. The cache can be reached on foot from a near by parking area.

Take Interstated 68 to 15 Mile Creek Rd into the forest, continue on this till you see Green Ridge Rd on the right, take this right and follow Green Ridge Rd until you see Mertens Ave ON THE LEFT! - There is a Mertens Ave on the right just prior to the correct one on the left. Follow Mertens Ave until you see the parking sign for the ORV trail.

Park in parking area to the right or take the trail on the left to the opening where you will see the power lines. Take the small trail uphill until you reach the "X then look north and head into the woods. You will have to follow your GPS from here. If you decide to walk from the parking area, it's only 1/4 mile to the cache on well defined trails.

This is a great public land for camping and or 4 wheeling. Take the trail the rest of the way for some great scenic areas. Check out the site for more info!
