This cache is near the Santa Ana River Trail and is about a quarter mile from the Dry River Cache. It may be approached on the trail from the south at Victoria/Hamilton or the north at Adams. Or you can park on Atlanta for a short walk.
The Santa Ana River flooded the Orange County area every few years until the '70's when the Army Corps of Engineers reined in the waters. The natural character of the river was lost but many residents were able to rest easy during those El Nino years. The river now resembles a large canal and no longer meanders but follows a straight and concrete lined path to the sea.
