11:00am--??
Make plans now to attend the Maryland Geocaching Society's 2004 Fall picnic and barbeque in Maryland's own Susquehanna State Park. We have reserved a beautiful picnic shelter with open fields for horseshoes, volleyball frisbee and numerous hiking/mountain biking trails nearby for your caching enjoyment.
This event is FREE and open to anyone with an interest in Geocaching. New to the game? Just getting started? Come on out and join the fun!
So Far Plans include:
A pot-luck picnic/barbecue,
New and Exciting Caches Placed In The Park For The Event
A few details:
Because the shelter is reserved for one day only there will be NO raindate... rain or shine, the show must go on!
Pets are NOT permitted in the picnic areas of the park... sorry.
Alcohol is permitted but only within the area of the picnic shelter.
There is a $2.00 per vehicle park entrance fee.
Restroom facilities are nearby.
How you can help:
Maryland Geocaching Society members will be providing all the basics (paper/plastic products, grill, charcoal, etc). Please bring your own drinks and meat for the grill plus a potluck dish to share. For more info on who's bringing what and what's still needed check our website and or the logs on this cache page. For more information on the park and for directions click here
If you plan to attend please post a note (not a find!) on this page indicating the number of people in your party and what food item(s) you can contribute.
Place this cache on your watch list to stay informed of any future changes or new information which may be posted here.

UPDATE 9/20/04: At the fall picnic there will also be an Amateur Radio Fox Hunt. This constists of locating a hidden transmitter located out in the woods. You do not need to be a Ham to participate. You do need a handheld radio reciever that will tune in the Ham bands. Most handheld scanners will do this. When found it will count as a cache. At the end of the day, we will give out the lat/lon for others to find. We will bring it along to other events also. For more info on Fox Hunting or ARDF look here; http://members.aol.com/homingin/index.html
