Fall COOKOUT

Please post a note on each event you are intending to attend and state the number of people in your group.

This will be a hot dog cookout. I have reserved a picnic shelter From 3 pm - 7 pm. The coords. for the shelter are N 35° 59.510 W 079° 26.522. We will eat about 5PM. There will be no charge for any part of the event. I'll be at the shelter from about 1PM until after we eat.

The cookout is at Cedarock Park located 6 miles south of I-85/40 (exit 145), just off of Highway 49. The park is open from 8:00 AM to dusk.

Cedarock Park park has a tent camping area, for FREE that is a short ways from the parking area for any one interested. My grandson and I will be camping in the park on Fri. and Sat. nights. Camping is 1st come 1st serve, but that is no problem, there is always empty sites, in fact hardly ever more than a couple of sites are in use. I'll be going to the park around 10:00 on Fri. and will get sites for every 1 that says they want 1. There is no electricity, running water, or showers, there are rest rooms with running water about 1000 feet from the camp sites. These sites are close to the parking area guessing about 1500 feet. There are fire rings for us to use.

As a bonus for those camping there will be a night cache to find. It will be available on both Fri. & Sat. nights. The night cache will become a multi that can be done in 4 different ways and be available on 9-27-04 for all to find. Here is the night cache Cedarock Multi Multi This cache will only be available to those camping.

Please bring a small item for a cache, which we will assemble at the event and award as a prize. I will furnish a container and log book.

In addition to the cache we have some really nice door prizes from Magellan and Garmin.

We have received a GPS unit (eXplorist 200) that will be given as the grand prize.

We will have a table set up with a display on geocaching and various GPS unites.
