Geocache Description:

FTF: Redrunner

Felix the Cat had a very humble beginning as a curious and mischievous little cat first conceived by New Jersey cartoonist Otto Messmer. In no time at all he was more popular than movie stars and world leaders of the same era. His squat, black body and huge, wide eyes and grin were instantly recognizable worldwide. He is considered the first true movie cartoon star. He first appeared in the early 1900's in a short film called "Feline Follies". Soon thereafter he made the transition to print. Today, Felix is syndicated in over 250 newspapers in a multitude of languages, reaching practically every corner of the globe.

While caching recently, I found a small plush Felix. I decided to take him from that cache and make him into a travel bug. Felix's home base and launching point is a 30-cal Ammo-can located in Nickajack Park. This area is heavily used at night and on weekends. The ammo-can is stuffed with several adult and child items for trade. For those geocachers that own a cat, feel free to write about your special feline friend in the log book when you sign in. As always, please replace as found and recover the cache well enough to protect it from being muggled. Thanks.

3/18/07 - UPDATE! Cache was muggled and has been replaced with a medium size lock n lock container. It is in the same location and very well covered. Please leave it that way when you leave. Thanks!
