This cache was inspired by a book of the same name written by local author Jack Nisbet. Located in Riverside State Park near the confluence of the Spokane River and Little Spokane River, the cache is hidden very close to the original site of the Spokane House.
In 1810 David Thompson of the North West Company sent two men, Finan McDonald and Jaco Finlay, to the area to establish a place to trade furs. They called their small cabin the "Spokane House" and it became the first permanent white settlement in Spokane County. If you would like more information on this subject please visit the website for the (Spokane House) On your drive to the cache you will pass an old corn crib which is the oldest standing structure in Spokane County. Please rehide the cache better than you found it. Please stay on the trail. There is no need to get off the trail until you are just a few feet from the cache.
