Geocache Description:

Mr Morris’s Little Garage.

Up to the turn of the 19C Oxford could generally be considered as being ‘Gown’ but here in Longwall Street the then Mr Morris, later to become Lord Nuffield set up his business building bikes. However this then developed into motor cars and Morris Motors was born. Manufacture shifted out to Cowley, first under the guise of Morris Motors, then Austin Morris, then British Leyland, then Rover (with its flirtation with Honda), then BMW Rover and finally after BMW kicked Rover into touch, just BMW, or should we say Mini? And so Town and Gown really started.
This is a busy area for vehicles and bikes, which is appropriate but do take care, we don't want to get knocked down do we?
What modern motor vehicle manufacturing technique could be said to have started here?
