Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden somewhere in the Old Limestone Quarry Trail area, near where highway 49 crosses the confluence of the middle and north forks of the American River.

This cache is another one of the nuts from the "Acorn's Nutcase" cache. This nut is hidden along the Old Limestone Quarry trail. Parking is easy at the trailhead, N38 54.720, W121 02.104. It's about a quarter mile hike down to the cache. The cache is a 4"x5"x2" tupperware-like container with a few of the usual goodies. The cache is well-hidden under a rock near the stream bed about fifty feet or so from the picnic bench beside the trail. No mountain climbing or bushwhacking is necessary to retrieve the cache. Please replace it as you found it. This is my first attempt at placing a cache, so if you feel that my coordinates are off, please post your coordinates. Please log whether or not you find it so I know how it's doing.

FTF congrats go to... Warriorrider!! Well done!!

I can't stress this enough, there are rattlesnakes in the area. They like to hang out in rock crevices. If you think you've found the cache, poke around in there with a stick before putting your hand in there. The cache has been there for seven years, and there's only been one report of a rattlesnake. So please be careful!

Bring your own crayon.

As always, happy hunting!

UPDATE 2/4/2013: Dolly the Beagle passed away quietly of natural causes on 6/20/2012. She loved this area. so many wonderful smells to sniff! She had a trackable tag, and I'd like to honor her spirit by placing it in this, my first cache, in her memory. The tag isn't physically here, but is in spirit. So, for those seeking this cache, please take a moment to think of Dolly, and know that her soul is happy when you find the cache. Have a great time caching in this great area, it's what Dolly would've wanted.
