Geocache Description:

Situated in the front range mountains of Coachella Valley.

As they say, finding the cache is the easy part.
You’re experienced… but can you make your way atop this fine aerie?

La Quinta Cove trailhead (N33 38.915, W116 18.685) is the starting point for many adventures into the nearby mountains. At the head of the cove, between the Bear Creek Canyon Ridge and Boo Hoff Trails, is a prominent unnamed massif. The highpoint of which is the southern peak (1,283 ft). You can guess where I put the cache.

To confirm your visit, email me the word written inside the lid. The Curiously Strong container holds a small log, pencil and geo-note. A pair of very old German coins awaits the first to find, with pizza parlor tokens for those that follow. The cache is placed unobtrusively. Please rehide it the same way.

There are usually several ways up a peak, but here most would say there is just one that is reasonable and non-technical. On route it is easy class two. Except for a bit of fun class three to the summit plateau. The approach is unmarked and untracked. Please refrain from placing rock cairns or ducks.

Amigos are up to this. You must be adept at cross-country scrambling on steep, loose desert terrain. At least there is no brush. Three miles and 1000 feet gain roundtrip. Photos reveal the route and clues. Enjoy your view of Eisenhower Mountain!

Climb on.
