This cache has been archived.

West Texas Reviewer: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so the cache is being archived to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the West Texas Reviewer.

Geocache Description:

This cache is just west of Stephenville at an old cemetery here that is easy to spot from the road. It is the former location of the Plainview Baptist Church. There was an old church and cemetery at this location. How long ago? I don't know.
My Father-in-law is 85+ yrs young and has lived in the area for all that time except for a short time with his Uncle storming the Normandy beach on D-Day. He says there was a Baptist church here and though his family and relations were/are Church of Christ, they would frequent this place when special services were held. The Baptist would return the favor when the Church of Christ would have anything going on. He said more especialy when food was involved! There is absolutely nothing left of the building and only 3 marked graves. The local Funeral home has a small input into a old cemetery book that says the area is full of graves but still 30 odd years ago were only 3 marked graves. The latest of them is a 1920 burial.
This cache is a 50 cal ammo box that is chock full of.....stuff. There is no straight road to the cache, but if you locate the correct one, it is only about 100 yards off the road. It is a small dirt county road. Not much parking area, but not much traffic either. Park in the road is ok.
Plainview makes since if you take a gander off into the west-southwest. Thanks for visiting.
